THE 2022 METRO POETRY COMPETITION
We're delighted to join forces with Tyne and Wear Metro to launch our second annual Poetry Competition to give talented poets the chance to be published in the most unique way - by having their work placed at a busy Metro station. Longbenton Metro station has become the home of poetry on Metro - with four poems on display for over a million customers who use the station every year. This year the theme is 'Home'. A winner and three runners up from each category will see their poems published on large posters in Longbenton Metro station, as well winning £100 Waterstones vouchers and a free Poetry Book Society membership, or £50 Waterstones vouchers for the runners up. Entries will be judged by a panel from Nexus and the poet John Challis in partnership with The Poetry Book Society. Please send completed entries, including your name, age, address and contact details to poetry@nexus.org.uk by midnight on 6th November 2022. Enter here

THE 2021 METRO POETRY COMPETITION
To celebrate National Poetry Day, we've launched the Metro Poetry Prize with our friends at Nexus, Tyne and Wear Metro. Poets of all ages and abilities are invited to send us a 20 line poem on the theme of "Winter" for a chance to see it displayed in a giant poster board on the Longbenton Metro Station platform and win a free PBS Membership. The competition is open to everyone, with categories for adults and children, until 7th November 2021. Entries will be judged by Alice Mullen from the Poetry Book Society and award-winning poet Degna Stone. We can't wait to give someone this incredible platform for their poems in our local community!
